View Full Version : Clear photos and drawings of early Zeps wanted

I am continuing to research early Zeppelins. Most books and sites are devoted to later models and there is not much out there on the early types. If you have good, clear photographs, drawings, or blueprints of any early German Zeppelin Type a through Type m please let me know! Scans are perfectly fine, I don't necessarily need to obtain original materials or copies.

Just found a bunch of great 8X10 photos -- but they are costing me a mint! If anyone else out there is interested in reference on early Zeps, please let me know. Perhaps we can figure out a way to share so more people can have access to great info without one person having to foot the entire bill. . .

I am interested in photos of any war time Zeppelins - especially if they bombed the UK.

Here are three good books with photos of early Airships.
1. Zeppelins of World War I by Wilbur Cross. Only a few photos.
2. "Airshipwreck" by Deighton and Schwartzman. Lots of photos of wrecks.
3. "Airships" by Robert Jackson, C-1973. Lots of good photos.

I have all three of these plus a few good 8" X 10" photos in my collection.

(Hey, that rhymes!) ;)

I should have asked you first. I'm looking for good, clear photos of LZ-1 through LZ-36 or so which would be Type a through Type m. Not the sleeker WWI stuff -- at least not yet. I will get into all that later. Only so much money and time available at once! ;)

I am interested in photos of any war time Zeppelins - especially if they bombed the UK.

I am concentrating on even earlier models at the moment (like LZ-1 through LZ-13) but I believe a few of the later ones from this group did bomb England at the beginning of the War. Will let you know what I find! :)
