We offer an attachment feature which can be used to include images with your posts. When you post a message, scroll all the way toward the bottom and look for a Manage Attachments button or link. Here you can browse your harddrive and select images to upload. You can even upload PDF files and Word documents. Images can be uploaded in BMP and JPG formats, but JPG is preferred.
Keep in mind that the size of each attachment is limited, so don't try to upload huge 1024X768 pictures! Try to compress your pics so they are reasonably small in terms of file size. (Pics compressed as JPG files with a setting of 7 out of 10 or "medium" quality yielding a file size in the 100-200K range work quite well.) The maximum file size for images is 500K and you can post up to five such images at a time.
Each user has an "account" of sorts that allows a certain amount of storage space for attachments. Once you have exceeded this overall limit, you won't be able to upload any more files until you go in and delete some others.
Attachments are great for posting stuff in the Member Gallery, Reference Desk or for general discussions. When you have special material (like an article or tutorial) or a lot of images for something special feel to free PM or e-mail me about it. I may be able to build a special image gallery for you. If that happens then the images won't count toward your attachment limit.
